We take actions to reduce our energy consumption
As a manufacturer, we are well aware of our share of responsibility regarding the planet. Thus, we wish to take actions and progress towards a more sustainable and eco-friendly economic model.
We initiated our environmental approach in 2019, by joining the United Nations Global Compact and aligning our operations and strategies with ten universal principles in the areas of human rights, labour, environment and anti-corruption.
The following year, we became members of the Sedex organisation. Sedex is one of the world’s leading ethical trade membership organisation, working with businesses to improve working conditions and environmental performances in global supply chains.
Following the government recommendations, we have implemented an « energy sobriety » plan since October 2022 in order to cut energy consumption by 10% over the next two years.
Today, with the aim of developing our activity in a sustainable and eco-responsible way, we have decided to invest in photovoltaic panels. Using these solar panels, we hope to reduce our impact on the environment.
Indeed, the sun is a local, clean and renewable source of energy. As for photovoltaic panels, they do not emit carbon dioxide or greenhouse gases into the atmosphere.
These RECOM low carbon 440Wp solar panels will be fastened to freestanding canopies in the parking lot of our factory in Mouans-Sartoux. The total area will represent 1026m² and will generate 217 MWh/year.
With a total amount of €410K, this investment will enable us to cover 23% of our electricity needs per year. The installation will take place during the second half of 2023.
